		Tasting Notes
When your nose first meets the 2019 J-Block it is like an evergreen forest, in the clean air of autumn, fragrant with damp clay, mushroom, toffee, cocoa, yet tangy with plum and currant. The palate is equally divine, like biting into a fresh picked blackberry and dark chocolate, leaving you with a warm, chewy finish. This blushing, mouthwatering wine should be your number one winter indulgence.
		Vineyard Notes
			Soil Type: Volcanic rock (Steiwer)
Vine Clones: 40% Wadenswil and 60% Pommard
		Production Notes
Early spring in 2019 was slightly cooler with plenty of moisture which caused bud break to hinder which would typically push harvest back. However, the warmer weather in May kept shoot and flower development on schedule. The summer continued with slight heat spikes and brisk nights which enabled the fruit to ripen in August. September remained slightly warmer than average and cooled off in October allowing harvest to occur in mid-October.
		Winemaker Notes
The J-Block, also known as Jordan Block, is named after the middle daughter of the winemaker. It sits on 4 estate acres facing south at a steeper, higher slope and gets more benefit from the coastal breeze each afternoon.
		Food Pairing Notes
This younger Pinot with juicy acidity pairs nicely with lamb stew, pancetta, grilled skirt steak, duck, or classic chicken with rosemary and thyme. For dessert, chocolate-covered strawberries, or cherry pie.
		Other Notes
Fermentation: 34% New French Oak for 14 months
Brix: 22.9
